How we collect, use and protect personal information. Last updated October 2026.
Who we are
Gold Coast Ecommerce is a trading name of B2B E-Commerce Solutions Pty Ltd ("we", "us"), an Australian web development business based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address, phone number, website address and whatever you tell us about your project, through our enquiry form, the scoping interview, by phone or by email.
- Payment details: when you pay online, your card is processed by Stripe. We see your name, email address and what you bought. We never see or store your card number.
- Client project information: access credentials, business data and content you give us so we can do the work you have engaged us for.
- Website usage: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived, collected by Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. Our cookie policy lists the cookies involved.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To deliver and support the work you engage us for, and to invoice for it.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To measure whether our advertising works.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't add you to a marketing list without your consent.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes the forms you submit on it.
- Postmark delivers your enquiry to our inbox as an email. It is not added to any mailing list.
- Stripe processes online payments.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) measures how the site is used.
- Meta (the Meta Pixel and Conversions API) measures our Facebook and Instagram advertising. When you send an enquiry or pay online, our server tells Meta that it happened. It includes your email address and phone number in hashed form (one-way encrypted), so Meta can match the event to an account without being able to read them.
Overseas storage
Several of these providers store or process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers with recognised security practices, and we only send them what each service needs.
Client data and AI tools
Where a project uses AI tools, client business data goes through business-tier services set up so the data is not used to train AI models. The systems we build run in the client's own accounts, under the client's control.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and credential management suited to a development business. Client credentials are stored securely, and only the people working on your project can get to them. We keep enquiry and project records for as long as we need them for the work, our accounting and our legal obligations, then delete them.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Meta account. The site, the forms and the checkout all still work if you do.
Access and correction
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@goldcoastecommerce.com.au or calling 0413 997 229.
Complaints
If you're concerned about how we've handled your personal information, contact us first and we'll work to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
